Is this air filter worth buying?

I have to agree. If you can't shell out 30-50 bucks for a quality filter (yes, I have read the K&N vs OEM stuff), I fear for the future of the car. Keeping crap out of your intake and motor seems like it might be slightly important, unless your motor was built for less than the cost of the filter...

ive been running an the ebay special w/ no issues @ upto 18 psi.
Just goto autozone & buy the short cone filter & be done.
Running the filter that is all smashed up is worse than running a new cheap AZ filter which are the same as K&N.

Err, what? Have you read the thread?

18psi on a T2Small might not suck the crappy metal doohickey out of the ram air portion (not to mention, it's pointless), but 12psi on a larger snail might. Hell, it still might on the baby turbo.

The filters posted are no-oilers, so how are they like K&N again?

Y'all, these are your motors, put what you like in front of your turbo, but don't post the "my turbo sucked this filter apart" thread we've already seen when it happens to you. You had the knowledge at your disposal and chose to ignore it. Best of luck.

Where does it say he's running a monster turbo that'll suck the filter through??? Err No where. The filter design is like K&N mr technical, as are almost all conical filters...

Is like but isn't the k&n. It's better to shell out a few extra bucks and pay for something you could use for a long time, clean it and re-use it again than have to buy one more often when it gets dirty as these cheapo filters mostly aren't re-washable and re-usable.
I like to stick to the motto the cheapest is not always the best, and when it comes to your motor's health, nothing is better than getting top notch maint. parts.
Better safe than sorry.

same ole adage (sp)

dint buy a KIA and expect it to perform like a Mercedes.

ROFL

Where does it say he's running a turbo that loses efficiency at 15psi at 18 psi...wait, that was someone else.

He's running a EvoII 16g. 300+hp all day properly tuned, sun in the right position, etc. Maybe some folks would rather play it safe.

On a side note, don't come at me with that attitude or grammar. Unfvck both ASAP.
