Is there such a thing as a NON-EPROM ECU for the 1990? All I hear about is the 90 having the EPROM ECU and the 91-94 having the NON-EPROM.

I just got my 90 DSM and the guy I bought it from told me it had a NON-EPROM ECU in it. Now, that doesn't bother me BUT I am wondering if it could be from a 91+ or if there were ECU's made in 90 that were NON-EPROM. This is a 5 speed AWD.

There are e-prom and non e-proms in all years. Just luck of the draw. I've had 2 non e-proms for my '90 and have never found an e-prom locally for it.

OK, good to know. Just trying to figure out a few issues with my car. The tach doesn't work, which could just be the noise filter since it takes the signal from that on the 90. Otherwise, I'm thrown for a loop.

Yea the car is sitting at the shop right now so I can't pull the ECU to check the part number on it and open the case up. It either has the 91+ ECU or the noise filter is bad/unplugged/non-existant. I'm not sure I remember seeing the manifold stay, and the noise filter could just be unplugged. I have an extra one laying around so that will go in the car if there isn't a noise filter in place.
