Is the 4 bolt rear end the strongest available?

Just finished ripping out the 3 bolt rear end out from the Talon. I'll be creating strictly a drag car and wondered if there is anything out there stronger than the stock 4 bolt rear end since i'll already be shelling out 300-400 bucks for one, might as well go all out if its going to fail down the road with tons of power going through it.

4bolt is the strongest bolt on rear, you can get some DSS rear axles to go with that or you can go with a Ford 9" like Shep =)

Seriously though, its the strongest bolt-in. Thats what all the other drag racer's are running.

Fabbing a 4 link rear suspension, new drive shaft and living with the wonderfull solid rear axle but that would mean you get to buy a shiny chrome plated rear diff cover for it!!!

Definitely might look into this though, because 300-400 bucks for a used 4 bolt plus $1800 for DSS stage 5 axles and thats over $2000 bucks for a top of the line rear end. I wonder if you could pull off the domestic rear end for cheaper.

Ford 9" or Moser 12bolt would be a SOLID solution, but I have seen 4bolt rear w/ stock axles run single digits! If you have the facilities to fab up a completely different rear suspension then go for it but I will have first dibs on the spec sheet =)

Yeah the only reason I wouldn't be able to pull that off is fabbing up the entire rear suspension and having to go through the trouble of buying front dsm components for the suspension, wheels & tires, and brakes, and then having to order a complete other setup for the rear ford setup. But I would imagine that a refreshed 4 bolt rear with huge axles would hold all the power I could throw at it.

Don't be afraid of the stock 4bolt rear axles and cups. i am pulling 1.70 on a stock 3bolt rear end.
