Is my frame damage preventing my hood from closing all the way?

I got a 96 TSI fwd and when i got the car it had the hood smashed up and the fender a little nick were the hood was smashed (right on the turbo bump) anyways the hood use to close barely. But now it just wont lock down all the way and driver side headlight wont go in all the way and the front bumper wont go in the first 2-3 holes from the driverside. When I took off my fender i noticed a small crinch up front with a little rust arount it, I was wondering if this is a big deal or is just something that doesn't really matter? Cause I want to get a carbon fiber hood to replace my broken one, but if that hood wont close like its supposed to than i wont waste my money. I have pics but cant fit them in so send me some emails and i'll email them to yea.

You should be able to see where it is catching at.
it could be the latch. if it was damaged from a collision the angle of the front brace could have been compromised. look real close and see if the hood is going inside the catch correctly

if no, then you may be able to adjsut it.

My friend super95awd got backed into in aparking lot, and his hood woudlnt close casue the front brace was pressed in against the radiator.

i took a ratchet strap and pulled i tback out, and perfect.
