i have a 1990 eagle talon tsi fwd...

i took it out the air can yesterday - successfully removed my silencer... and found out that i had broken out the top end of the boost control solenoid.

if you look at the picture... i had ended up breaking off the nipple for the bottom hose with the clamp... or stock it sits with the hose nipple facing towards the passenger seat. it's not the hose that goes from the bottom of the can to the top of the can. what did i do and is it driveable with the hose not connected to it? i took it out for a test spin and it seemed okay. im going to super glue the hose back on as a temporary fix.

thanks.

who cares, unplug it and throw it in the trash. It's not needed. if your really want it i can find mine outside and mail it to you.

Just get rid of it, t-the vac line from the wastegate actuator into the line that goes from your bov to the intake manifold. Done and done, you will see stock boost without bcs.

Just connect the nipple on the turbo outlet pipe (top of the turbo) and the actuator nipple (bottom of the turbo) with a vacuum hose and run 10-12psi (stock actuator setting) until you get a mbc. It's good to bypass the bcs anyway and replace it with a mbc because being a bleeder type valve, factory bcs leaks a lot of air.

Highly unlikely, you probably have other issues like boost leak and such.

Can't comment as I have not done it before but I'm sure a little search should yield what you're looking for.

yup! did some searches and thought that taking out the lower honeycomb would not benefit me right now. even though my car is stock... im trying to figure out if i have boost leak - and how to diagnose it in a cheap manner. i saw the one involving buying that gauge off of that web site in the FAQ section... does anyone know a better, easier way to do it? and what is the next step if i do have a boost leak?

thanks

this to me is a worthless mod, it causes more problems than actually helping...its different for every car but id leave it in, you wont notice any gains really and its just some boring work for nothing IMO
