They have no plans to do this. I also asked about 275/40/16, which is my dream size, since 16x10s are so easy to get, but those will never be made in any compound/design.

Those would be fine and would like around a +35 offset on a 17x8.5. It just requires a new set of wheels for those of us coming from 245/45/16, without the joys of 285s.What about 245/40/17 V710.

Im running with probably a bit more power than DG, but that lower gearing is nice because I can stay at a higher RPM.
How much time do you think is lost between a V700 and the A6? Is it worth the extra $200?

Hard Question to answer, with out a clear cut answer.
Its worth it if you race with a larger club and have a must win attitude. The A6 is quite abit stickier. I can't give you an actual time difference because I don't know how your organization sets up tracks. On a good larger track you might see up to 1 second, which can make or break you in alot of organizations.
If your not the top of your class and are still learning I highly recommend the V700 they can last a full season with out much trouble. Some people even get two season (I don't recommend) because the rubber ages and becomes hard, which even makes them last longer.
How many events are you going to run? How many Laps do you run during an event? What are your average lap times? I think I got over 100 laps on my old Victoracers, on a smaller course. Once I started racing on a larger , and alot faster course my tires stopped lasting that long.
Well the Victors are no longer going to be made, also the Victors are a directional tire till they are worn down to nothing. I like the Victoracers they were the best of there time however the Ecstas tread pattern is a little more friendly to water and they stick the same from my experience. I would get which ever I could get cheaper.
