is it time for a new clutch fork and pivot ball?

just a quick question, after you put the clutch fork on the pivot ball, should there be any kind of play before the fork catches the pivot ball. or should it be nice and snug with just a pivoting motion aloowed, no play involved? im guessing this is the case, LOL it has about 127k miles on it, so i plan on replacing them anyways.... especially with an act 2600 goin in... also, any good suggesting on where to get these two parts at a good price? thank you for your time
 
I can't answer this for you today, but I'll let you know after the 26th. I'll be able to do some hands-on with 90k old equipment, 30k old and brand new OEM parts. If I don't post back PM if you'd still like to know and I'll make an appearance.
