Is it recommended to buy new gaskets when taking out throttle body for cleaning?

It is not a year thing, it is all dependant on the wear on the part. I have seen 99's with more WEAR-AND-TEAR than my 97.

I would just throw em away and make them out of 1/32 or 1/16" gasket material from autozone kragens etc. Thats what i did, and they have been leak free.

Mine has come off cleanly. Have had it off & reused it 3/4 times.

Yes, most gaskets are reusable. Just throwing out the general rule. Check everything over. Some gaskets are pointless to replace, even for $4. Not that I am cheap, it is just the rule of, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." That I usaully go by.

If you are unsure what a bad or good gasket looks or becomes when removed then just replace them. I can give you 3 cases of reuse or not. Each has correct answer. It is up to your knowledge to determine.

Valve Cover Gasket
Spark Plug Well Gaskets
Head Gasket

Which one needs to be replaced REGARDLESS?

Sorry, stealing the thread for a quick question. When do you use silicon seal? I'm almost done with fmic install, do I need to silicon the TB, Turbo outlet and BOV gaskets?

I used rtv on my bov and tb gasket because they were leaking. You can just for peace of mind. What turbo outlet are you referring to
