after i installed my halman boost controler...i made sure it was as far out and low boost as possible. Bt i had the waste gate and BOV lines going to the wrong nipples on the controller....

i toke her out down the road and didnt boost intill i was on a clear road. i only steped on it for a second..when i saw it go over 20 i let go...i did 4-5 more puls like that to see if it was a fluke...all were in 3rd gear.....then i relized what i did.

today i noticed my car wasent idling normal. im not sure if its because i jumped the timing last night...or just how its reacting to the Boost controler.

if i did jump a tooth or 2 ...how do i set the timing back to its right place..whats involved for work.

also...is it possible i may have hit some valves?

the idle change is very hard to tell..but i can see it in the way the motor vibrate and the exhaust tone.

help me

If you jumped timing you would have alot more than a bad idle, you probably wouldn't have made it home. I think you are safe in that regard. As far as the idle, if the controller is hooked up incorrectly you could have a vaccum leak and that could cause an idle problem. I would check all of the hoses and see if you find anything. Good luck:thumb:

I wouldn't say that, necessarily. It's possible that you COULD HAVE jumped timing, in which case it would affect your car according to how many teeth you jumped. If you jumped 1 tooth, then it's possible that your car would just run funny and you probably wouldn't have to worry about bent valves. I'm not sure of the amount of jumped teeth that you really need to start worrying about, but just hope that that isn't the issue. Check your timing marks on your cam gears and see if they match up correctly. If not, you have a timing belt job to do.:notgood: P.S. Did you check for boost leaks/Vacuum leaks? If you have a bad enough boost leak (possibly by crazy boost pressures, repeated 4-5 times:D ) it could be affecting your car under vacuum at idle and causing problems like that.

If you overboosted, its possible that you did alot of internal engine damage, this is more likely than jumped timing. Do a compression test and make sure you are still getting good compression. Also check for boost leaks, with all that boost you might have popped something loose, but I have a feeling you cracked a piston or something, especially if your fuel system is stock.

Based on your profile not showing any fuel mods and you running around pushing 20 psi boost, I suggest you pull you plugs and look for signs of detonation. Get a fresh set of plugs, gap them to 0.028 and see if that doesn't help. Hopefully you didn't burn a valve or worse.
