Is it easy to replace a oil pan

Is it easy to unbolt and bolt a new oil pan for 2g gsx. I stripped the holes for the oil return line. Is a new pan cheap? where can i get it?

yes it is easy.

you wont need a new pan tho.

find someone that can weld.. pull the pan and grind away the old nuts that are welded to the inside of the pan and weld new ones in place. save ya lots of money. you could probably even get by with jb weld

Or you could forego all that and just re-tap them with the next size up bolt. Though it would be nice to be able to avoid putting metal shavings from the process into the pan. Just throwing out the option for ya...

retap hole wil larger thread, get a matching plug, before you put the nnew nut in, stick a magnet pens all around inside oil pan to make sure it gets the metal sahvings, repeat this process liek 5 times or untill you stop coming up wioth shaving on your magnet, put plug in, voila youre done, did this on my civic 3 years back when I still had it, worked perfected.

dont be a moron, pull the pan if youre going to tap it. dont half ass it just to get by from pulling the oil pan...

Coat the tap with bearing grease, turn no more than a half-turn at a swipe, pull out to remove chips and repeat. Just like a real mechanic.
Chips that size in the oil may slightly score the oil pump, but the filter will catch them all.
