is a engine rebuild kit worth it?

im looking at buying a engine rebuild kit since im burning oil and what not and im wanting to make atleast 300-400 hp in my car it will be my dd the engine has 115,000 on it so if it is worth it were is the best place to go and order one?

Just replace whats bad in your engine a rebuild kit i check some vednors some have them, or grab some stock rebuild parts as you go. Worth it i never bought one and wont i just get what i need.

What are you rebuilding? If you get a re-ring kit it should come with everything you need to do a basic rebuild. Rockauto has some nice re-ring kits, I just rebuilt my wife's Vw golf and a Nissan sentra with there kits. I used the sealed power kit for my Vw and the dnj kit for the Nissan. For my gst rebuild I got all oem parts from mitsubishiparts.com and stm since I know it will push more than stock power, I trust oem over the Rockauto stuff atleast for my car . Both cars I just did are running strong again and my Vw is even getting 31.5mpg

If it were mine I wouldn't order any parts until you get the engine tore apart and get everything measured to know if you will need oversize pistons if it needs a bore or undersized bearings for the crank if it needs to be cut.
