iPOD interface w/ Head Unit!!!

I'm not sure if anyone else here has been wondering how to get our iPOD to play in our DSM like the new BMW does. Well that worry is now over. Now we are able to plug in our iPOD's im assuming any generation to this setup and while it charges your iPOD you are able to listen to the music and change songs via the Head Unit. Sweet stuff imo The only thing is we have to buy their head unit also. I tried playing my iPOD via the casette adaptor thing and it wasn't the best quality hopefully this is the solution to the problem.

you can also hook your ipod up to the deck as a changer (if you don't already have on) and if your deck supports a changer. the volume is allot louder than the kits that you buy and you don't have to buy that alpine box for a hundred and some dollars...

Couldn't you just run a headphone wire to the AUX port on your deck (if you have one)?
I don't know much about Ipods, I guess.

I have my ipod mounted in the empty hole in the hvac. I bought an in-car charger from a company called sik and it has a an unamplified line out going into my headunit. Here are pics.

The only advatage to the alpine unit is that you can actually control the ipod through the deck. There are many more affordable ways to do it but if you want something the is factory like, that is what it is for.

this is the true way to moutn an i pod. moved my cd player up to the center vent. Fbierglassed teh enclosure for my i pod and boost gauge. Adapter for RCA inputs for my pioneer head unit. y split to RCA outputs out of the ipod then jsut connect the 2. Car charger hard wired up to the cig lighter. So it charges and palys and is all at my finger tips.

as for the iPod interface for Alpine, not really that expensive, i think like $80 if i'm not mistaken. but you can see all of the info right on the screen of the Alpine. very cool.

I am suprised that you don't have problem playing cds. Usually, you want to keep the headunit level as possible. Anyway, nice install on the iPod.

BUMP!, what accesory is that that is charging the Ipod and connecting it to the headunit!? Any link to this company "sik"?

gotta check my Eclipse CD3413 to see if there's a aux in. thanks in advance.
