Intermittent Boost

I have a 1G Talon with an aftermarket 15G Turbo. For whatever reason the turbo is only wirking intermittently. Sometimes it spools up as it is supposed to, other times it does not respond at all. Any suggestions? I have a boost adjust/controller and a Turbo timer, could either of these components be creating the problem? Or, could the timing belt be out of alignment/adjustment and causing an issue with the turbo? Any help would be much appreciated? Please advise. The issue began after I inadvertently popped the clutch and stopped the engine without the turbo timer.

I would say that it has to do with you wastegate and/or actuator. And do you mean a 16g or is it really a 15g. I wouldn't think that a boost controller would cause it to not boost and a turbo timer has nothing to do with that. The only thing that a boost controller would do is create a boost spike, but only if it's a mechanical not an electric. Also are you still running on an internally gated system or are you running an external setup? I would check to make sure that the wastegate arm isn't starting to come off. I know for a fact that that wouldn't allow you to boost because it happened to me. And from what you are saying that it happens intermittently, I would take off the 02 housing to see if the wastegate arm is fully closing, because that's what happened to me when my car did the same thing.

It could be boost leaks, wastegate flapper/arm, boost gauge, or the boost controller is malfunctioning (spring or ball).

Do you have an aftermarket boost guage that actually confirms that you are not getting ANY boost at all at times? If so you may want to pull your intake tube and spin the compressor to see if it spins freely.
