So, we had some pretty major thunderstorms here the last few days, and I opted to not even try to drive my car around on account of the huge puddles everywhere... Just left her parked outside.

Anyways, early yesterday evening, I went to grab something out of it, and noticed the entire passenger side was under water.

I've had this car out in heavy rainfall a few times over the last couple months with nothing getting in... weird... I checked the windows and sunroof, and they were all closed fine.

The water just kept pouring in. It sucks especially because the previous owner put a capacitor and the fuse block for the amps under the passenger seat, and screwed them to the floor using screws that weren't stainless. After removing the passenger seat, RUST CITY! UGH!

Anywho... does anybody have any ideas on where I can look for possible leak locations, maybe based on past experiences?

I'm going to check along the firewall, around the venting at the base of the windshield, and around the sunroof... anybody know where the drainage pipe for the sunroof routes?

my guess would be the sun roof drains. there are 4 of them one in each corner. pull out your headliner and blow them out/ maybe run some weed eater line down it

2g car? (going off of your picture and info) If so...

There are also 2 drains in the channels for the hatch. make sure those are also clear of debris, as well. I also noticed that the weatherstrip for the hatch and the hatch glass. I have has isssues with both of those before.

So far, I haven't found any sort of water trailing from anywhere except almost closer to the firewall...

If the case were that the water was leaking in from the sunroof or hatch, where might the water trickle down? I'm just looking for any sort of clues first before I start tearing things apart.

And yes, it's a 2g.... a '97.

well in past experience i would suspect that maybe the previous owner installed a new windshield, now i know this is a long shot but it has happened to me. On the passenger side of the car the person who put the windsield in didnt do a good job so in heavy storms it leaks in down the firewall into the floor

Though I do agree that's a valid point, I'm pretty sure I'd have noticed that by now.

We've had several rain falls here since I got the car, and this is the first time I've seen any water inside the car yet. So I'm leaning more towards a clogged drainage pipe somewhere...
