Whats happenin captain(s)? I need some opinions. Moving a little farther forward with my build I had my super 20g rebuilt, and just ordered my FMIC. The question is how do I couple the piping to the elbow (faces stock I/C location) on the super 20g housing. I considered modifying the piping or adding in a 180 silicone elbow. Ive considered cutting the elbow off and having it rewelded to face the drivers side. I figured by the time i redo the elbow, the cost will be close to that of a new down-fire housing. Obviously, i've considered just buying a new down-fire housing. Also, I contacted VRSF to get their idea for possible solution.."cut the elbow off, having a 180 is going to be a restriction." If i replace the housing Ill have to get a little creative with mounting the wastegate. I intend on going internally gated BTW, unless im forced to go external. Anyway, im just trying to consider all possibilities before making the decision

Thanks for any ideas

Short of replacing the cover altogether or getting the elbow cut off and having a straight nipple welded to the outlet so you can turn it however you want it to face with a silicone coupler, I don't know what your best option(s) may be.

ok. I can cut, but I havent learned to weld like a pro. I figure minimum its going to cost me 65 bucks minimum on a good day. Ive seen housings for about 75.00, I think. Any idea on how much I should expect to spend if I decide to have mine modified?

If you buy a new cover just make sure you buy the standard Mhi style cover. Then you'll have provisions to easily install a wastegate.
