Sorry for the noob question, but I just need to have some things ironed out before I spend a pretty decent chunk of change.

Right now, I have a 16G turbo with a standard (SBR) J-Pipe connecting to some custom IC pipes and a Starion FMIC. My upper "S" pipe is identical (or is, maybe) to the Dejon tool S pipe (but it's powdercoated black). I want to ditch the 20 year old Starion since it's leaking and was thinking of just purchasing a Greddy 24-row setup. I know that the Greddy 24R setup comes with the lower IC pipes and some of the charge pipes, but not the S pipe, is that correct? Will I need any other adapters to hook up the Greddy IC to the J pipe coming from my 16G? I was thinking of going with the AGP Turbo Spearco FMIC kit or maybe the SBR kit instead since the short route looks/works much better.

Any suggestions will be much appreciated, I need one soon, my Starion is cracked pretty bad and causing horrible boost leaks. :notgood:

I would just get a new core only but the thing is that all the lower IC pipes, etc., have been custom fabricated to accomodate the Starion FMIC. On top of that, the Starion FMIC has a flipped entank (on the charge side) so it may be difficult to find a IC that will match up to those pipes. ALSO, the pipes are a bit old and the couplers need to be upgraded to better 4-ply couplers and it seems like the core, which would probablly run around $400 for a decent one, plus the couplers and the time would equal close to $600 and I could get a Greddy, for example, for around $750 with pipes, couplers, clamps, etc.

Then if you already have your upper pipes done, just get the Greddy. I'm not a huge fan of it, but it'll do your 16g more than fine. And it's not the end of the world if you don't have short-route piping.

You could make a better setup including new couplers, clamps, and a core for less than 600 I'm willing to bet.

Probably, I just want all new stuff, I guess.

There are pros and cons to going or not going to a bar and plate. It also depends whether you plan on upgrading turbos at a later point or not. The eefficency of the short route bar andplate is hard to beat. SO it comes down to how you want your car to perform and a what your budget allows.
