upgrade all intercooler pipes?

hi guys couldn't find any specific answer for this question,
i'm replacing my stock intercooler for huge front mount i'm planning to upgrade all pipes from2.25"to 3"will this improve performance or is this just overkill let me know what you think:rolleyes:

more volume to pressurise does this means that the larger the pipes the more turbo pressure i need to reach the same lets say 15psi than with 2.25'pipes???:rolleyes:
 
it means more lag because it has to pressurize more air. Same with a bigger intercooler.


This makes me wonder about ported exhaust manifolds. Do they cause turbo lag. it puts a larger volume of air between the cylinders and the turbine.
