I was looking into getting an aftermarket intercooler and I can’t seem to find intercooler piping online and was just wondering what you guys recommend. All I can find is a kit from CXRacing and from what I’ve heard is that it’s equivalent of an eBay brand

Two things...

1. Have had a few friends with the complete CXRacing intercooler. It was never something that any of them complained about. But I dont know what the consensus would be for others on the forum who have used the full CXRacing/Punishment Racing system.

2. I have the CXRacing piping mated to a 7" ETS street intercooler because I already had the intercooler and came across the piping for cheap through a local guy. The piping isnt bad at all, but there were some modifications that were needed because the ports on the ETS extended like a half inch further out than the CX racing intercooler that the piping is meant to be used with. This results in the bumper not fitting correctly on the drivers side. I liked that it just screwed to the bottom of the bumper support, so no cutting or removal to replace with CX's or other manufacturers support bar..

If I wouldve had to pay full price with what ive heard that they are asking for just the piping these days, i probably wouldve pieced it together myself. Only thing that might deter me would be having to track down someone to weld the a bov flange and tracking down a jpipe because it sits at a slightly different angle than the 1g jpipe did.. The kit got me like 80% of the way there. I didnt like the quality of the couplers. They were 3-ply i believe, but just seemed really thin. I ended up getting a 90 degree coupler to make an immediate turn right off the drivers side intercooler port and into an 11" 90 degree pipe from Amazon (I couldve just cut the pipe I had but didnt feel like trying to bead the ends by hand) so that the bumper fit correctly. The rest of the kit fit just fine, but with the modifications I had to make, I probably couldve done it cheaper than what they are asking for the piping kit.
