hey guys i got a question...i recently put a vr speed fmic on my car with the stock 14b...i just put a b16g on with a punishment racing external 02 dump but the dump tube was hitting the intercooler piping so i had to put a dent in the pipe to get it to fit...if i went to a 2 inch pipe and get rid of the 2.5in pipe just from the compressor to the inlet of the intercooler so i can clear the dump tube without having to put a dent in the piping will i be all right? or will it be to restrictive? any input would help...thanks guys

It would be a restriction, but probably not noticeable. Might even be favorable. For a relatively stock car, a FMIC does more harm than good. It's a larger space the turbo will have to pressurize, hence lag. FMICs are only a good thing once you're consistently heatsoaking the stock sidemount. This is where filling in all the info you can about your car would help, so replies can be more accurate.

This thread was very helpful in determining flow rates for different diameter piping. I think, because of it, I decided to go with 2.25" piping for when everything else is right and I can justify giving my car its chrome smile back.

+1 to cutting the dump tube. Maybe after you cut it, take it to any local place with a welder and have them extend the tube in a better direction. That's alot of heat being hosed onto the piping that you're trying to keep "cold" :thumb:

LOL i was going to, but itll just dump on top of the intercooler pipe LOL

i would take it to a shop, but i just dont have the time or money to pull it all out again LOL...thanks again guys for the help
