Ok this question is gonna seem weird probably but i can get custom bent pipe at a shop in town so i was wondering what would happen if i ran 2in pipe which is what the jpipe is to the factory smic and then ran 3in after because i have a MAF off a 96 firebird lt1. than reduce it at the TP? my MAF was bad when i bought the car and i know the GM is an upgrade i bought a translator from dsm link. so any thoughts on 2in before and 3in after?

read some of this thread, there is good information.

Delta448:

"As far as lag goes, it will not make a noticeable difference what size piping you use. I'm running 2.75" piping with my large FMIC and little 14b, spools as quick or possibly even quicker than the 1G piping I was using and stock side mount. The extra volume of the larger piping just means less flow restriction. Not that a half inch piping diameter difference makes any more than hair-splitting differences at the low airflow a 14b or even 16g offers."

well the stock intercooler pipe the hoses, are they 2in or are they larger? i cant find anything via search on here because it always pulls up discussions that its been mentioned once and never again so impossible to find in 13 pages. if i ran 2.5in and just an expander to the maf wouldnt it cause turbulance in the air? idk im still learning turbos LOL. thanks for the help.

thanks LOL. i guess ill just go 2.5 the whole way to the maf... i hope this works out... boost leak is a killer when a honda kid comes up next to you and actually gets you on a jump... until you pass him...
