intake problems???

ok, i have a 94 gs. 2 problems i think. first, alot of times when im coming to a stop and come out of gear, rpm's drop and car dies. starts right up afterwards though. any advice? second, say im in third driving along. when i left off the gas, its starts jerking. what the hell??? i have taken the throttle body apart and cleaned it up real good, it was horribly nasty. looked in the intake manifold, its nasty as well. i seafoamed it and its like its gotten worse. need a new intake manifold???

sounds like your bov isnt recirculating . and your intake manifold is probable filled with carbon cause of the egr. so take it off clean it out and dont hook back up the egr . i had to do that on my car because when i went to clean my throttle body i took a light and looked in there and say how bad it was

Also if your BOV is venting to the atmosphere this will happen as well.

well, if i had a turbo, id try it, ....but im thinking its the IM all clogged up as well. pisses me off

Did you try your idle set screw?

Could plausibly be the ISC or ISC drivers.
unplug the ISC and measure resistance across pin 1-2 3-4 and 5-6. should be somewhere around 28-32 ohms. I get 26 cold, and 37 ohms hot. those are good measurements, if far out of spec, order a new one.

i reset the screw and brought it to 750rpm. still have the same problems

it could be a fuel problem, like a clogged fuel filter. They are cheap and wouldn't hurt to change if it never has

Yep that would be my next set of advice Never move onto huge things like changing your IM before taking care of all of the basic service needs of your motor. More often than not that will be the root of you problem.

yea thought about that. but at idle, its perfect. and the only time i have problems is when i let off the gas and/or after the motor is fully warmed up. going to change the fuel filter first though
