Installed air intake today, took it out driving and it felt slower somehow, this is coming from the factory piping and airbox to the pictures below. All couplers are tight, triple checked. Valve cover has a large crack in it that I discovered after testing intake, would this affect it?

that coupler to the turbo seems a little big, maybe this is the issue? As you can see all vacuum lines are hooked up properly. The car also feels a little sluggish and sounds boggy when I go WOT at 2500 RPM in 3rd but if I ease into it it feels like it comes on a lot stronger this could just be my imagination though.

Not really sure what to think, about to go back to stock airbox and order a K&N FIPK. :notgood:

*edit* Could this just all be in my head because I can hear the turbo spooling sooner? before I could hear it at full boost around 3700 rpm but now I can hear it coming on fairly early, could this be contributing to me just "thinking" its slower when actually its the same speed just fooling me with sound?

I also feel like I put that on wrong, turbo to intake wise, I feel like I am going to damage the turbo or something by putting that aluminum right up there, am I just being paranoid? that coupler seems like garbage, will it work?

^You definately need the other adapter with the filter on that side. That reducer plate is killing your airflow. You may need a new coupler, but that is not making that much of a difference. Get the other plate for the filter and you will be satisfied. good luck

Do you really think that 3" filter adapter is killing airflow into the 2" turbo inlet by that much? It's not his problem. Have you seen the hole the stock airbox sucked air through? I'd blame the cheap filter before the filter adapter.

OP: Disconnect the battery for a little bit so it resets the ECU. Then it can relearn your fuel trims because they may be slightly different now due to the new intake. It's a metal pipe with cheap rubber couplers. There really isn't much to mess up. Switching to a different "name brand" metal pipe isn't going to be a miracle fix for it either.

Have you done a boost leak test yet? You may have knocked the BOV loose and have a leak there at the base where it connects to the upper intercooler pipe.

Waiting on my BLT.

As for it just being a pipe, I agree, I already ordered a K&N FIPK since the ebay filter is complete garbage anyway and it won't fit with the injen style intake very well.

At this point I am more looking at filter placement then actual performance. Right just return to the stock pipe for a bit with the FIPK.

I am ordering SMIC piping from dejon later this month so I might as well grab the intake while I am already placing an order.
