"Ebay" air intake

So there seems to be some confusion about which "cheap" items you can get off ebay that will still perform well, so here is my 2 cents worth. I just installed my ebay "Injen clone" air intake on my 2g Talon so here is the skinny: The outside has a nice finish but the inside is just rough cast with NO finish at all! While the effect on performance is minimal I'm sure, an hour with a dremel on the inside of the pipe wouldn't hurt. There was sufficient silicone vacuum hoses to do the job, although the pcv hose fit a wee bit loose on the valve cover (hence the ziptie). Getting the silicone over the MAF was kind of a bear, but nothing a little WD40, a flat screw driver and a fair number of swear words couldn't fix. The "fittings" on the pipe are welded well and secure. My kit even came with longer bolts for the air filter adapter, it all went together with ease! All in all I am very pleased with this intake, after a long test drive I didn't notice any additional power (nor did I expect to), but I didn't notice any whistling vacuum leaks or any other undesirable traits either.

Looks to me like you got a nice setup with that system. I have got a couple things from ebay that I am pleased with. Its just all in what part you are getting from there.

They only thing is those cheap silicone couplers don't last very long but you can upgrade them for cheap

Ya be carful with the vac lines. They arnt really thick enough and can collapse easily. I've been using a ebay intake for years with no issues. The only part I changed is that plastic maf adapter. I use the vibriant one
