Ok so I put a new distributor on my motor and since then my idle has been all wacky. I took it to a shop and the guy there messed with the distributor and the intake manifold biss screw. I thought that, that screw is supposed to be all the way in? If not where is it supposed to be? Also in order to time the car right, is it necessary to use a timing gun? Thanks

Distributor? DSM's don't have a distributor, so which part are you speaking of?

No, the BISS should not be screwed all the way down, it is usually 1 to 2 turns out depending on idle.

Is this all going on with the 95gst that is in you're sig? On a 95 the cam and crank sensor are non adjustable to it should be on as long as the timing marks line up.

No I put a 1g 7 bolt motor into it. The part that I speak of is the crank angle sensor sorry :D.

Oh ok. Here is a good write up on ignition timing adjustment

And yes you need a timing light to do it.

Was the car running properly with the 1g motor prior to changing the sensor, ie. all wiring was correct and ignition wires swapped, ect. everything needed to do the 1g in a 2g swap?

Also when I start up the car the car idles fine since I fixed the timing problem but once I start driving the car and getting on it for a while when I come to a stop the revs are at around 1500-2000. What could be wrong? I defently don't have a boost leak anywere.

It would be useful to know which intake mani your running and TB. The 1gs are notorious for idle surge. It can be many things the 2gs have surge as well however its usually TB shaft seals BISS or BISS oring or boost leak. If your performing a boost leak test be sure to open the TB and run at least 20psi. This will help determine if the TB has leaks.

You will have to rotate the intake cam so that the valves are close its a small 5* window youll know when you find it

Wow ok so today after driving the car home it was running perfect and everything and then pulling into the driveway my CEL turns on! Now I know there is a write up on how to get rid of the CEL on magnus motorsport.com but for some reason the link isn't working at all. Anyone else know where I can get the info on how to get rid of it?
