I think they are just pissed because I made a claim on my FMIC when I hit a Semi tire on the highway..... It was one month after that claim, I received the letter.....2fast2furious said:And why would they have a reason to think that anyway?
Yeah, but you're older and married.... I'll never see $60/ month.....David15151 said:try StateFarm good rates.. im at 60 bucks a month full coverage.

Yeah..... It was worth them cancelling me to get a new FMIC and bumper out of it.... It still doesnt sound legal to me..... And I have a good driving record (well, the last 4 years at least)......2fast2furious said:Big mistake... you never claim that kind of stuff unless your car is stolen or totaled. Most of that stuff the insurance companies see you as using the car for other then intended purposes.

I asked them the criteria also. He said it was their call and every case is different. There is no set rules. I said "what about every Civic that you cover that has been lowered and has a CAI and exhaust....". He said, "Civic's are slow and Eclipse Turbo's are not. One small modification such as lowering springs puts me over the edge for liability". Sounds kinda foolish to me. They'll insure a 04 Vette (which is much faster than me) and they wont insure my lowered Eclipse because it's too fast.karbon said:It'd be interesting to know what progressive's criteria for a "race" car are...because every third Civic/DSM/240/(insert popular 'tuner' car here) on the road qualifies. Assholes.
Yeah, I had $5000 of coverage on my additional equiptment and I told them every modification upon starting my coverage. They had no problem until my first claim.....HokieDSM said:I filed a claim with them last year and they paid for fixing my "additional" components including clear corners and foglamps that were damaged - I made sure that my coverage included about $3000 of "optional equipment".
You should be a Progressive agent - you think the same way. Just because it 'looks' like a race car, doesnt mean it is. I agree I've modified the appearence of the car, but How can you justify calling my car a race car when it's never been on any track, only car shows. From what I've understood; You modify the appearence for shows like I've done, and you modify the engine internals for racing (which I havent done). Whats next?? Are you going to consider an 85 Buick with paint and a body kit a race car because it looks fast, or because his internet name is 85Buick_racer??MattnGsx said:Your car looks like a race car, why are you complaining? Don't say it isn't either, because your far from stock looking too. I just don't see the point of this thread? Don't get my wrong im not tryn to flame, Progressive sucks...

, not trying to flame, but give me a break......It is BS and Yes, my agent is a big D!ck. He said that he didnt need proof of me racing it. Using a K&N filter to add horsepower and lower springs to add aggressive handling was enough to convince him that if I wasnt track racing it, I must be street racing it. The thing that pisses me off is that I have yet to do either. It just LOOKS like a race car. Most of you guys are faster than me.turbolaserAWDrs said:I think its BS that they "assume"(you didn't say they had proof) you are a racer, and cancel your policy. I know people who work for Nationwide Insurance, Progressive, and others that have "modified" cars. Your agent must really be a d!ck.
