Insurance [Merged 10-6]

This site may earn a commission from merchant affiliate links, including eBay, Amazon, and others.

Find an insurance broker, one who carries many companies' policies. He'll do the shopping for you, and cut that rate at least in half. You may want to try more than one broker, too.

Ok I'm sure this has been asked before, but I'm wondering what you guys are paying for insurance? Preferably what I am looking for is someone with maybe 2 or 3 tickets OMG and that owns a 2G AWD. Cause what I'm thinking is I am either going to save up my money and put a B16 in my CRX or look for my dream car (2G AWD) in about 4-6 months. But I need to know how much you guys pay in insurance, just so I can see if I can even get close to affording it

Edit : Also include your age please :)

I got an aftermarket alarm and it lowers my insurance by 5%!

So you guys with new alarms, call your insurance provider and call to see if its the same with you.

All I need to do is go to the place that installed it and get a certificate to give to the insurance company.

YAY!

I was just informed today that with any modification, even an intake, TOTALLY nullifies your insurance. This is with Prudential.
How are you all handeling this insurance thing?

Yea, that works until you get in some sort of wreck, even if it isn't your fault. Then your'e extremely screwed.

I would guess it depends on your insurance. I dont see how a mechanical modification would nullify any coverage, or should.

Progressive doesnt have any problem with it, and hell I've got coverage for $2000 of "optional equipment" :D

I suppose its because this stuff is related to racing. I see their point, but theres got to be a legal and smart way around it. According to the Progressive rep I talked with, an intake voids my insurance. Could i be getting the shaft on this?

I'm 18/male.. Clean record. Had my license 3 months now. Drive a 97 GS-T, and I live in Cali. I'm paying 1200 every 6 months for insurance. Is this too much? Please help.. I want to know if i'm getting ripped off.

i'm 21 and drive a 95gsx and am paying 1100 every 6 months. and thats with my home owners insurance discount. its just the price ya gotta pay to drive this type of car.

if your the primary driver of the car it'll still be high. you won't get an insurance break till your 25 or married.
