this is my first dsm, and fuel pump went out the other day, and my new one comes in today, and i am just looking for any advice on the replacment process, any tips or tricks that will make it easier, thanks

ya thats what i thought, i still think im going to pick up another tank if i can find one, and swap them, i havnt done any performance upgrades yet because i am still fixing all the stuff the guy before me messed up, he messed up the shifter with ebay short throw and ent the bracket, has a ps hose leaking like a siv, wich caused the alternator to go out, has a dent in the oil pan, has a universal muffler that is held in with bailing wire, the thermostat was blown out of it, and the radiator looked like it was deteriorating, he didnt have battery supports so it grounded out on the hood and he for some reason cut the battery ground cable and replaced it with speaker wire held in with a hose clamp, and the speaker wire was melted. so far i have replaced the alternator, the battery, the hold downs, negative cable, have a new ps pressure hose, getting a full 3 inch turbo back, took off the mbc that wasnt even hooked up right so it was pushing 14psi+, i put in a new thermostat, and my radiator just got in today and now it looks like he messed up the fuel pump to:notgood:

and my buddy who just graduated from wyo tech wants to paint it midnight lamborghini blue with metal fleck, but i keep having to put money in it to keep it running:sosad:

ok got a new tank and swapped the old coroded one out, and the new tank came with a new pump in it, so now i have extra parts, but everything is in and it is running really good, but the bolt on the bottom of the tank holding the pump in place is leaking and slowly getting worse, would a new crush washer fix this problem? because there is a new washer on it but it is not a crush washer, any solutions?

i would do that but the one on the old tank is not budging i tried getting that one off for 2 hours, i used ALOT of pb blaster, wrenches, vice grips, heat and nothing was breaking it loose, and the bolt on the old tank is different from the bolt on the new tank:confused:

or could i get a piece of gasket and make my own gasket to fit the bolt? or would that absorb/ deteriorate from the gas?, it has a regular washer on it now and its not leaking bad just enough to keep me concerned and want to replace it:(

okay well i will figure something out, like i said its not leaking bad just enough, so i think if i can just get a oring or a crush washer, something that will create a seal i will be fine. and now its time for the boost gauge install. thanks guys:thumb:

update: more pb blaster and the biggest set of channel locks i had and i finally got the bolt loos off the old tank, and i just replaced the bolt on the new tank with the bolt from the old, and it sealed up and no more leaks:hellyeah: then also had time to put in my boost gauge wich was super easy, so now that i can see what im boosting i think its time for some performance upgrades:rocks: thanks for all your help guys
