I am putting a set of GC coilovers on KYB AGX and im running into some major problems. I have some questions:

1.) I ordered GC top mounts for the front so i had to get the springs 1" longer, is this correct becuase it seems that when i put the shox together the spring is already loaded?

2.) Are the GC coilovers suppose to come with the rubber o rings that go inside of the purch to keep it from turning when adjusting height?

3.) Is the washer that comes with the coilovers that the perch sits on suppose to rest on the actual spring perch on therear AGX shock or is it suppose to sit right above it on the taperd section of the rear shocks.

Please, if you can help please do so, and if you know of a write up on this please post it cause ive searched.

1) Yes 1" longer is required or you'll coil bind.
2) Yes but the o-rings suppied didn't fit well in my case.
3) can't remember, sorry.

the o-rings are there to fill the gap between the collar and the shock, not necessarily to keep the collar from turning.

I'm not sure what washer you're talking about. The rear collar has a cut-away to allow it to sit on the perch like the stock spring did.

how long of a spring did you get in the front?

Im refering to the washer that you slide on the schock first, its the very first thing that goes on the shock. Like on the front when you slide it down it should stop before it sits on the shocks built in perch and the coil over should sit on it. My washer is too big and slides all the way down to the shocks spring perch.

Also i orderd a spring that is 1inch longer than what they send you stock, so im not sure what size it is.

The length is printed on the spring, or you can measure it but it should be 8".

Throw away the small black bushings that come with the top plate. Use something softer. Otherwise, you will bend the shaft on the shock at worst and have stiction issues at best.

ok, the rear springs are 7 inches and the front springs are 8 inches.

I appreciate all the help guys, keep the info flowing.

Starting to sound like Dennis there bud.... :)

What where all the parts that came with your GC coilovers? Mine included a large rubber top mount, a small red cupped bushing, the spring, the perch, and a large steel washer.

Does that sound right or am i missing pieces?

Man, that was low. ;)

If I start getting in peoples' faces for not running national events, you may come to my house, beat me with a balance-shaft belt, and take my car.

The cg top mount is exactley the same, they also allow for a longer shock travel.

No they're are not. I just yanked all of the G/C stuff out of my car and sold it cheap on Ebay. Dig the spherical bearing on the RRE mount and ask Jtoby why he told you not to use the hard rubber busings that G/C was supposed to send you.
There is a difference, a big difference.

Please don't ask me for two reasons. First, the arguments in favor of the RRE plates over the GC plates (along with an explanation of why the GC bushings are evil) can be found by searching since we have said this before. Second, it forces me to come too close to admitting that DG was right and I was wrong, which makes my stomach curl, which makes me get sarcastic, which forces Chris to send me notes asking me to take it down a notch, which makes me ... oh, you get the idea.

- Jtoby

That was more of a rhetorical, as you stated why not to use the bushings in the previous post.
Again, sounding like Dennis.... :)

I haven't read any posts from DG. He had mentioned re-enlisting.

What ES bushings should i use for the GC plates? I looked but all i can find is the whole kit.
