AGX Shocks Noisy?

I recently installed KYB AGX shock w/Eibach Pro-Kit lowering springs. I also installed new OEM bump stops (trimmed 20mm) and OEM strut mounts in the front. I immediately set both the front and rear to "1." I am impressed with the near stock ride "comfort" and all around improved handling. Also, my strut mounts were blown in the front, so any replacement was an improvement in noise and vibration.

My question is: Did anyone else notice that you can hear the shocks at slow speeds and mild bumps - like a hiss or something?

I also noticed that the "bad strut mount clunk noise" is still there. What else causes a noise like that, mainly over small bumps at slow speeds.

I get the hiss too so don't wory about that. The clunk may be your ball joints going out.

Oh, ok. I put a new lower control arm w/ball joint on a couple months ago but I'm sure it's possible.

You know you can press out the old ball joins and install new ones, right?

If you only replaced the one you might check the other. Just try and wiggle all the suspension components with the car up in the air. You'll be able to find the culprit in no time. You might need to use a pry bar to check for movement in some areas like tha ball joints.

I think the hiss is normal. My Illuminas do it on setting 1, and less on setting 2 and then I can't really detect it on any of the higher settings. Perhaps yours too will respond similarly?

I know I'm going off about Illuminas and not AGX's, but I did call them up and they told me hissing was normal, some do it some don't. Its just the valving inside doing its thing.
