I installed the ebay XS FMIC on my 2g GST. Before I installed it I had the stock SMIC, the car ran really good and pulled like a mother.

After the install of the FMIC, there seems to be a huge power loss, but the most disturbing thing is there is a new tick.

There is now a tick coming from the upper engine, it does not tick in neutral or with clutch in while rolling. Only when its under pressure. We did a boost leak and found no leaks from intercooler or piping. But then again we couldnt get it to hold more then 3psi. The tick gets very loud, seems like its coming from upper engine. What could be the problem? Any tips would be useful.

Bottom line after instal of FMIC, there has been a major loss of power and a very loud and anoying tick under pressure.

PLEASE HELP!!!!

THANKS

Checked the intake manifold gasket area yet?

Also, make sure ALL of your nipples on the intake manifold have their correct hoses on them. Like BOV, brake booster etc...

Found the leak(s):thumb: Broke an axle:notgood:

Leaks were at the, TB flange, BOV flange, and the big one was...The Evap purge hose was not connected to the throttle body.

Ryno resurfaced the TB flange today, but still needs a new gasket to seal it up. He also needs a new bov flange gasket(the o-ring on the 1g bov gasket is completely gone).

We finally got the system to pressurize after installing a new hose to the evap purge.

So we get it to the point where we want to test drive it, he comes around the corner and lays into the throttle a little and bang! Broken axle city.

LOL... This project has been one thing after another. Hopefully we can get this thing back in shape tomorrow.

This is too much for an 18 year old.

We are really happy we found the major leak, we go on a test drive, the click is still there, it starts to get a little louder, and yes you know the rest.:sosad:

Hopefully it will be back up and running tommorrow.
