So i installed fic 850's, 255 fuel pump, afpr, dsmlink, and turbosmart mbc. What boost am i safe to turn up to? does dsmlink recognize the injectors now that ive set the global and deadtime, will it give plenty of fuel for 20psi?

No real answer to that, is your engine healthy, we can guess, but do you have a wideband? Have you read the demos on ecmtuning, you set your injectors size using the link software.

i have a healthy engine, only 29k original miles. yes i set my injectors up in dsmlink. I have read alot too. Im pretty sure 20psi was around the most i should turn it up without a professional dynotune yet

A dynotune is what you do on Link but on a constant controlled run. You can tune for any PSI you want using Link as long as you know how to tune.

You need to get your idle set, do a pull while logging, review your log and adjust. Find your max boost you wish to run and slowly work up to it or whatever the max your vehicle will handle while monitoring your knock, AFR, and power gains.

What do you think is inaccurate on link, what are you monitoring, if you havent gotten a wideband i would, to monitor your afrs, or you may destroy the engine, if you run to lean.

well i just went out for a run. Is dsmlink ever inaccurate? because it said at my highest speed of 93mph i hit 430hp and 440 torque? this kinda shocked me? i mean the car feels fast but its a 16g?

How accurate/inaccurate hp calculations are depend on the data you put into it (such as weight) and the road you're on (if it's not totally flat).

A dynojet does basically the same thing, but it's a more controlled environment being on rollers than a road, so it's easier to get repeatable results. I use an Excel spreadsheet for hp calculations, and it was almost exactly what a dynojet showed for my car.

The HP and Torque can be off a little. Its calculated by certain values in the log I believe.

When I was running the 14b without a wideband and all fuel supporting mods I turned the boost up to about 18psi and haven't had any issues. I would slowly keep turning it up and watch for knock in the datalog. If there's knock you can back it down a few PSI. You can adjust timing in link as well if you start getting some knock but I wouldn't start messing with the DA tables until you get familiar with Link and tuning. A wideband would really help though when tuning. It could save your engine. But with your fuel modifications and that turbo you shouldn't run lean as long as you don't mess with the fuel tables in Link.

ive tried adjusting the mbc up and down and it dosent sem to really be changing my performance? is this because of my internal wastegate or something? does it have a limit that is stopping me from raising boost?

To post a log, you do it the same as adding a picture to a post. Use the Go Advanced button below the post box, then click the Upload/Edit Photos button and find the log.

Post up an idle log with the car warmed up for a start. Then if you happened to take a cruise/3rd gear pull log, you can throw them up as well.

Another thing you'll want to keep an eye on when figuring out how much boost to run is your IDC %'s. You don't want to push your injectors over 80% ideally.
