My friend and I installed his old crower cams, I think they're the equivalent of 264/264. He upgraded to the 272/272. Install took about 2 hours going at a slow pace. We did it the way where you don't remove the timing belt, worked great. Except we should have swapped the cam seals out the first time. Had to take it back down bc they leaked once we got it going. Not a big deal though, works great now.
Above 5k it sounds a bit raspy but I like the idle. We used the stock cam gears and it idles okay. It could probably use cam gears since it only pulls about 12 vacuum, but I don't feel the need to spend money on it.
It lopes, but it idles fine. Doesn't try to die coming to a stop, just always hovers around 900. Butt dyno says pretty good gains above 3000. Just waiting for an EVO3 + FMIC and I'll be all set
Thought I'd post this for those who were curious to what it'd sound like. I love the idle.
