Just wondering what were peoples thoughts on using Web 264 cams with an hx35 turbo? Thanks.

They should go nice, But In my opinion I would get a set of basic 272's to compliment and spool that hx-35 even nicer.
I say basic meaning not kelford LOL.....Nothing against kelford but the kelford 272's as we know them are way bigger than any other 272.

If you have a deal on the 264's than go for it because they will work perfectly fine.

If your suggesting that a larger duration camshaft such as a "272" will help promote quicker spool..... Well it won't. Your wrong.

I'm not being a prick, Just stating a fact. :thumb:

Yeah, I just said it would spool it nice since bigger cams after all provide better top end.
Which in your opinion would you get better results with in his setup
A 264 or a 272?

When making this decision one thing thats kinda hard to understand is a certain cam doesn't give you a certain hp, and a 280 grind doesn't always give you a faster time than a 272 or 264. The best cam is what works for your set up, for example a 2g with a stock intake mani, a 16g setup with 560cc's and a 190 fuel pump would likely make a better street driven car and pull a better 1/4 mile with a 264/272 cam set up than straight 280's as the power curve trends with the turbo allowing for maintiang the low end torque and a slightly flatter power curve.

In the case of the hx-35 there are differences, there is a 56mm inducer 8blade and the 56mm inducer 7blade. From what i have been able to find on a quick search of the comressor maps either it flows around 53-58lb/min. In addition based on size and what im seeing as far as other people's spool, i would go with a 272/272 or if you are pushing the limits of this turbo i.e. meth injection etc a set of fp2x cams would be nice too. Try consulting with dsm-onster is kinda the hx series guy. If you have the seven blade i could maybe argue 280's, but it would be a stretch depending on what your goals are.

The webs will be better than stock, but will certainly be one of the first limiting factors in your set up. I would sell them spend a little extra cash grab some 272 which will be near perfect. If you are running smim etc, i would get it dynoed with the 264's first if you have them and post the results, then we can much better tell you whats going to be a good choice and you can alwasy sell them used.
What are your whp goals, purpose for build, desired boost, and where do you feel comfortable reving to on your set up?

Couldnt have said it better. I didnt really take into consideration if he has or is planning on getting a smim but I completely agree.

I figured a 264 will be perfectly suited for a turbo thats a little smaller and with the 272's he will be getting the most out of it.

STROKE THAT BABY WITH A HX-40 AND SOME KELFORD 280'S THAN WERE TALKIN BUSINESS! LOL jk

The car will mainly be used for road racing. I was also considering the FP68 HTA as well. If I was going with the HX35 id be using a twinscroll setup externally gated. I can grab the Web 264s for a really good deal thats why im asking.
