What rpms does your 264/272 cams sit at idle? My have to be at around 1k so it won't stall and the vac is around 10-12 in hg mostly.

Sounds like you have the timing belt off a tooth or 2. Ive got the big comp cam(272 equivilent) intake and exhaust and didnt have a real idle problem. Mine idled at 750 rpm but when if I hit the clutch while slowing down, rpm's would fall rapidly and stall occasionally. I had my eprom programmed for 950 rpm idle and had no problems since. My idle vacuum is around 14-15in-hg. I have a friend with 272's with the same idle as me.

could just be an intake leak. My 272's idle perfectly fine. Never stall when the car is warmed up. my HG is around 15, with the idle around 900rpms.

Have you driven the car with the new cams yet? It could be your timing belt but you would notice that after your first drive. If that's fine then I would suggest looking for a boost leak.

I have 272's and there is no idle problem whatsoever. Check your timing belt to see if its off at all.

idles fine, once my car is warmed up, its like stock cams. And I only have afc

I have HKS 264/272's and they idle fine. I think when I first installed them.. along with many other upgrades the car occasionally died at idle. Eventually, that took care of itself and went away....maybe the ECU had to do some relearning.

i have 264/272 and it idles between 800-900... has a nice lope but never stalled or anything

I also thought the timing was off but when I check the timing marks they were all correct. I also check for boost leaks and there's none, I took the car for a drive and it seem's fine but it's hitting fuel cut even at 10psi with the cams. I didn't have any problem with fuel cut before I put in the hks cams. Sorry I forgot to mention my mods at the beginning so here's my list of some of my mods:

50trim, 680cc injectors, s-afc, afpr, maft, hks 264/272 cams, port polish (head, intake manifold, and 95 turbo manifold), sbr 1g fmic kit, 3" downpipe and exhaust, methanol injection, mbc and all the little bolts on.

Only other thing I could think of is fuel. I remember I had to lean the low and high throttle settings on mine after I installed the cams. Have you made any logs since the install? I would pull a couple of logs and see what o2 and fuel trims are.

I've done a acouple pulls but the battery on the palm pilot ran out and deleted all the logs. The car is down right now due to a broken clutch fork so I won't be able to do any runs for awhile.

264/272, the idle hovers around 800-900rpm's. I turned the idle screw up a bit when I installed the cams because it didn't like the stock 750 idle. It would die sometimes because of a slow and sticky isc (idle surge), but it's fine now with the idle turned up. My vacuum changes depending on the temperature. When it's cold outside I will get 10-14. Usually it's around 15.
