where did you get the 720 vpc chip? I currently have a 660 chip and was gonna use the safc to compensate for the difference.

It's a little lopey but overall not too bad. On the rare occasion, I do have the car stall, but I attribute that to the combination of the Fidanza Flywheel, Tial BOV Venting and MAFT.

For a minute I thought that was my car LOL. My GST sounds just like that, but I'm pretty sure I don't spit flames... I don't get the "pop" sound either. I had to adjust my S-AFC II a little, but it idles just like that and never stalls.

does anyone know where someone has actually dynoed the difference and can show the actual gain?

http://www.automotosports.com/cam_test.asp <--- here is a test of cams, they did Stock Mitsubishi, Web Cams - Street Grind, HKS 264 intake 264 Exhaust, HKS 264 intake 272 Exhaust, HKS 272 intake 272 Exhaust, Crower - Stage 3 Grind, and Jun Stage 3 Grind... Enjoy:thumb:

thats with a 16g though.

272's are alsome cams, they produce huge amounts of top end with the right turbo. i know a company who will be making some race cam's for our cars at a good price and a great lift without the shitty idle problems

p.s. give ams a call :thumb:

The backfire and pop are from DSMLink's launch rev limiter.

Who has 272's and uses thier AC? So far we have one person saying that 272's and AC dont mix, can anybody refute this? JDMAWD how does your car behave when you turn on your AC?

My vacuum (14inHG) is already low because of altitude (5000ft+) so I'm wondering where 272's would put me and if my AC would be usable. Would a 264/272 combo be beter for higher altitudes?

my car idles fine right now and all I have in it are hks 272's and cam gears. I put them in now before other stuff cause I got the valve stem seals, timing belt, balance shaft belt and water pump replaced. I figured why do it later, just put them in now. Car idles fine, once in a while when I start it 5-15 minutes after I've been driving it it wants to die but feed it throttle for a few seconds and its fine.

Can you run your AC?

havn't tried yet, theres no belt for it :D :( :p

I doubt it though, it idles around 6-700, prolly when driving its ok but at a light you'd have to turn it off.

ps nice car painmaster :talon:

i'm thinking of gettin 264/272 cams for my car. but money is an issue. anyone have any for sale for cheap. i realize this isn't a vendor forum, but i was just curious if anyone knew

You guys still have AC????????? I pull my AC systems on my DSMs, you get so much more air to your radiator with that condesor gone and the power from the pully not draggin down and the weight reduction....

:dsm: if u want AC more power to you, i guess -- but as for the extreme cams id live with the few idle problems 272s may give you in exchage for the ability to beat a corvette and watch his face as you pass him up when hes runnin WOT ;)

*sumthin u might wanna consider since ur force inducted, the 264 intake cam paired with the 272 exhaust cam might help smooth things out quite a bit, thats what i was runnin in the 99 gsx and it was very nice and smooth and you could definelty tell the motor and turbo were likin that added air flow ;) but it wasn't too radical on the intake side that it gave me fits

Sweet! Sounds good to me! Maybe I'll have to go with the 264 272 combo!
