where did you get the 720 vpc chip? I currently have a 660 chip and was gonna use the safc to compensate for the difference.

Probrably because they were 5-6 degrees off. Had you degreed them I bet you could have gotten them to idle fine.Originally posted by nowayout
It's depend on car and sometimes luck. i couldn't get it to idle with Crower stage 3 cams.

I took a little vid of my car idling at 850 with HKS 272's:

It's a little lopey but overall not too bad. On the rare occasion, I do have the car stall, but I attribute that to the combination of the Fidanza Flywheel, Tial BOV Venting and MAFT.
. My GST sounds just like that, but I'm pretty sure I don't spit flames... I don't get the "pop" sound either. I had to adjust my S-AFC II a little, but it idles just like that and never stalls.Originally posted by sarge
i'm seriously considering picking up the hks 272's for my 50 trim gs-t
does anyone know where someone has actually dynoed the difference and can show the actual gain?

I don't have any issues with my AC, but I don't know if the 272 intake cam would make it grumpy...

my car idles fine right now and all I have in it are hks 272's and cam gears. I put them in now before other stuff cause I got the valve stem seals, timing belt, balance shaft belt and water pump replaced. I figured why do it later, just put them in now. Car idles fine, once in a while when I start it 5-15 minutes after I've been driving it it wants to die but feed it throttle for a few seconds and its fine.

if u want AC more power to you, i guess -- but as for the extreme cams id live with the few idle problems 272s may give you in exchage for the ability to beat a corvette and watch his face as you pass him up when hes runnin WOT
but it wasn't too radical on the intake side that it gave me fitsOriginally posted by Mangold
You guys still have AC????????? I pull my AC systems on my DSMs, you get so much more air to your radiator with that condesor gone and the power from the pully not draggin down and the weight reduction....

*sumthin u might wanna consider since ur force inducted, the 264 intake cam paired with the 272 exhaust cam might help smooth things out quite a bit, thats what i was runnin in the 99 gsx and it was very nice and smooth and you could definelty tell the motor and turbo were likin that added air flowbut it wasn't too radical on the intake side that it gave me fits
