i just got myself a short shifter and want to install it on my 94 talon. i know i have to take the center console out but mechanicaly im not sure what i need to do. don't want to boch this up since its my daily driver

pull old one out and drop new one in. some advice tho, if you think your going to second guess yourself on doing this just take plenty of pictures when removing the old one. and then use those pictures as a referance when reinstall

Hope you brought a one with the stop built in. Remove the center console it is easy it will give all the room you will need. You will need to to remove the boot and means that you need to remove the center console.

After you remove the center console you will have to remove the 2 shifter cables on the actual shifter assembly. Then there will be a nut I believe its a 17, as soon as you remove that the shifter should slide off and then you can put on your new shifter.
