I plan on running an HX35 in my 2g soon. The plan for the bottom end is to change out bearings, water pump, eliminate the BS. Then install some ARP L19s. I am keeping the stock pistons and rods.

Now when it comes to fuel I am a little lost. I have a FPR and a Walbro 255HP. Right now I also have some FIC 1600cc injectors. They are the older Bosch style. Now I bought theses not knowing they had tuning problems and such. No one seems to want them (for good reason).

Now I just wonder; if I want to run E85, what size injectors should I look for? Obviously these 1600's are junk, so should I just consider them useless?

Insight on this would really help me get headed in the right direction!

Most of the problems with the old style were at idle wasn't it? What are you tuning with? Id run em and see if you can tune it out, since you have them already and changing them out only takes a couple minutes.

When tuning a Prelude a while back on a set of PTE injectors(re-labeled bosch) the only problem I found was they were very difficult compared to other types of injectors to tune for idle. Other than that they performed very well at all other situations once I finally got the battery voltage offset dialed in.

If you can deal with the idle, i say give em' a try

I do believe that was the problem. I remember reading a thread from I believe it was 2009. As far as tuning will go, I will have DSMLink V3. The tuning will be getting set back though. I was planning on having V3 by my birthday (Jan. 19th), but a guy has a HX35 for $300 down in the Metro area. I will be there on Christmas so I figured why not get it while I am down there.

So I will be getting set back about $300. LOL Oh well though. My next paycheck should be almost $300 anyways.

Fuel Injector Calculator from WitchHunter Performance use this calculator and just add 30% to your horsepower for running e85 becouse it uses about 30% more fuel for instance if you make 1000 HP on gas put 1300 in the calculator for e85 size injectors

Thanks. I will have to check that out when/if I figure out how much power I put down. That is if I can even get the car half-ass tuned to drive. More than likely it is going to have to make a visit to DB.

I will have to do that then, thanks.

You guys don't see a problem with running 1600's on stock internals though? I know the stock bottom ends can handle a lot, but would those be too much?

In all honesty, after the research I've done, you'd be better off getting something else unless you can deal with idle and such but maybe this thread can help you out on some fuel explanations and such but hope this helps you out on your injector sizing.

What horsepower/torque are you looking for anyway? This will give you a rough estimate as to what you may want/need to support your HX35.

My goal is about as much as the minipulated stock block will handle. That or roughly 350-400+(HP). TQ I am unsure of.

If you're going to replace bearings and such you might as well, at least, do a normal stock rebuild to at least ensure your internal are fresh and not excessively worn. It'd be one of those "safety" precautions to do so, all-in-all best of luck to what ever power you do manage to reach.
