I was thinking about the next step in the mod chain for my car and it came to injectors.

I will be running either a 3052 or a 3065, and looking for around 500whp most likely on race gas, and around 400 with pump. I was leaning towards 880's or 1000's for these numbers. It will be tuned with DSMLink and I will also most likely be running meth injection later on if that matters.

Would either of these sizes do the job? Also does it matter what brand of injectors I would get?

It's not really about "size", it's about injector duty cycle.

My recommendation - GET THE BIGGEST INJECTORS YOUR WALLET CAN HANDLE.

Lol, yeah, that's kind of what I meant. Which size would be able to maintain a reasonable duty cycle with the numbers I'm looking for.

As for the wallet, when it comes to the car its not really an issue, LOL.

What are/will you using for tuning? With those goal & turbos it won't be a piggy back system (or if it is you'll need an eprom chip to do the main compensation) Depending on your tunning method I would recommend 850 min. Injectors basically cost the same as you go up in size, so might as well get abit bigger then needed to keep those IDC's down & allow room to grow if you ever descide to. If your running say Dsmlink I personally would probably grab something around 1000's. I bought my 750's thinking I would have lots of room & now with the new setup they won't be maxed but the IDC will be getting up there.

FIC's are very popular & seem to do fine, thats what I run. RC also makes some good injectors, they will run you abit more. Then most will tell you Denso injectors are the best but they are even more again.

I was looking into some RC's a little more than others based on reputaion and price, but I'm still not too sure. I'll keep looking around, but now that you said somethin I'll probably end up doing 1000's.

Sometimes when I read I skip over the unimportant information.... that turns out to be important info :D Ya if I was doing it over again, like I said I'd probably go around the 1000cc range & defently no less then 850. RC now has 1000cc injectors so they may be just what your looking for.

i have pte 950cc, not quite 1000..but close enough. i got a few friends all running a 30r or a 35r. all of them are at 1000cc.

You guys are saying to go with 1600's because you can handle them with DSMlink. So when is it time to upgrade from the Walbro 255 HP?

I too am interested in movin on up...i think this still applies

Haha very true, I don't think I have even seen any 1600's anywhere, but that might be because I'm only looking around for 1000's.

Here are some 1600s from a trustworthy vendor:

I would just get rid of the walbro 255 to start. The Bosch 044 in tank (for the 1g) or in line (for either) is plenty for most setups. Too many walbro have shit the bed (early) for it to be a trustworthy pump.

I think I will be going In-line with the Bosch 044

Where is the best place to get it? The best I could find was about $270...is that about right?

I didnt even think of that...

I thought the Bosch 044 Fuel Pump was supposed to be 400 LPH?

If you have a way to tune it, I dont see why not to get the biggest injectors as possible...its like a $30-40 difference total..

Is there any problem with having very low IDC's? For example, is there a peak efficiency level for the injector?

I would go with 1600cc and dual fuel pumps with a 255hp in tank and a bosh inline, that way you also dont have to worry about getting enough fuel to the injectors.

Yeah, but I can't afford to shell out more money for the in line pump just yet. So if I ran 1600's on the 255 for a little bit would I be ok?

[EDIT]
I am liking the price of the FIC 1600's on extremepsi, so if I got and inline which one should I get or a model number for a Bosch.

FYI trying to tune 1600cc is very hard and sometimes requires a driverbox and even then some people cannot get them dialed in.

That is really what I am asking about...

I have not yet used DSMlink, and I have not tuned anything above 660CC's

If you get injectors that big, you would think you can just turn them way down and have very low IDC's, but my question is can you turn 1600's down low enough and still have them operate efficiently?

DSM Link isn't exactly for the noobie tuners. You have to know what you're doing. Punching in numbers and not knowing how the engine should react is just stupid. Read up. Pick up "How to Tune and Modify Engine Management Systems" by Jeff Hartman. That should help you get somewhat of a grasp on the Link, and let you ask the right questions.

And yes, plenty of people have sucessfully tuned 1600cc injectors for daily use. You just have to know what you're doing.
