Damn, i can see your vid dave, but not kahfae's... i downloaded the thing for it like 10 times already, and it never loads...

Dave, im glad that my knock is confusing you too, I guess im not *that* tuning illiterate. Hey its nothing that the 100 octane couldnt fix!!!

Thanks Full throttle!!!

Yeah dave ran his car, he said it wasnt shifting up to par with his expert driving. He hit a bunch of consistent 11.1's despite the slow shifting. I'll let him describe his races himself though.

Get that boost leak test done so you can make it out next time!!!

I need to up the boost and tune! maybe i can get my parents to buy me a couple hours of dyno time for my b-day on the 25th!!!

Come dyno with me on the 27th Danny! Oh and is the video still not working? I can move it to another host if it's bad.

Yeah, the new clutch was a little different, so I couldn't drive as well. The clutch engages closer to the floor, which changed the way I launch off the stutterbox. I have it set to 5500rpm. With the old clutch the stutterbox would disengage before the clutch engaged, so there was a slight free-rev zone where the revs would climb a few hundred rpm before the clutch grabbed. It was sort of like having a 6k stutterbox. Now the clutch grabs right off the stutterbox, so the launches were lagging. I wish I had my laptop, I could've made an adjustment and maybe helped Brandon change his chip, too.

The trans was shifting slow, every shift was grinding. I think I used too much MT90, not enough MTL. It's easy to fix. I just have to burrow under the dash and adjust the clutch rod, then drain a little tranny fluid and add more MTL.

One of my datalogs shows the car spinning all 4 at the launch. It's so cool, the log goes pure vertical at one point. One instant the rpms are at 5687, the next time interval is .22 seconds later and the rpms are at 7375! Yeah, the 4 bolt rear end is strong. Luckily I also have a 4 spider center diff. No breakage here. :)

I just dropped the cat off my car and wow what a diffrence. My boost went from 25 lbs to 30+ lbs. I did a 3rd gear pull now that it is nice and cool out and it is a whole new car. ROFL I went to do a pull getting on the freeway and when I romped on it in 2nd mid corner it lit up all 4 tires and hopped over a couple feet. :rocks:

anybody planning on going this wednesday?
Im not sure if i am. Id like to do some work on the car before i break something else. A few misc maintanence are needed and probably should be done before i go and beat on the car again.
1. Alignment
2. Driveshaft thump fix
3. Front end bushings
4. Id like to fix my afpr, so im going to start taking that thing apart and tinkering with it. I need to borrow my friends tap and dye and get some new hardware for the regulator, maybe paint it black.

so anyone planning or shooting to hit one of these last 9 wednesday night drags?

Hopefully i'll have some work done on the car by the last wed and some more tuning/boost.

Whats up with the other local dsm's?

Yeah I can come out, but only if it cools off!
Lately I've been helping a few other friends work on a Starion. It's a fun car- 2.6 liter motor with a 14b on it, RWD, 2400 pounds with nearly 50/50 weight distribution. We're building it for www.24HoursofLeMons.com

I've also been working on my Laser, ProjectMPG. You wouldn't believe my last tank, you'd all think I'm so full of isht. :)

oh yeah thats right, it's at sac. well then i'll be there.

just got to retune the car before i go...

yeah im hoping to get out sometime before the season ends. My car needs a bunch of work though.

Suspension - need front bumpstops put in, i have em just dont have a lot of time, my front shocks might even be blown, but i'll throw in the bumpstops first to figure that out. I also have a control arm bolt thats stripped and i need to figure out how to fix that.

Wheels/tires - my RF tire is starting to show belts! I cant put tires on these rims because they are all scratched and curbed and its useless to put em on f'd up rims. So i need rims and tires.

Exhaust - i have a damn exhaust leak, somewhere near the flexpipe, i can hear it when i start up the car, its throwing my wideband off so tuning right now is kind of an issue, it goes away when the car is hot though, so it might not pose that large of a problem.

Once i fix these things, my car will be fit to get another good tune, hopefully at higher boost than 15psi and go run consistently at the track.

Bumpstops are easy, two people could finish the job in two hours tops.

Ever think about EVO rims? They usually come with decent tires, 17x8" and look nice. Try Craigslist or NorCalevo.net Plus they look like aftermarket high performance wheels. It's not like Mustang rims or 300Z rims where people say stuff like,'hey aren't those wheels off some other car?"

yes im interested in evo rims, how much do they usually go for? i wouldnt mind rockin em at all as a matter of fact.

hey dave, do you have time sometime next week to help me out with the bump stops?

Maybe you can swing by after work or something? I want you to ride in the car first to tell me if you think the shocks are blown... it seems like they are getting progressively "bouncier" haha.

installing bumpstops is easy especially if your car is lowered already.. shouldn't take more than an hr. by yourself if you know what you're doing
