So I bought the whole upper and lower intercooler pipe kit off ebay, after reading some reviews and seeing some say it fit well and some saying it didnt fit well. I took a chance... bad decision.. If you are ont he edge thinking about making the same decision I did, don't do it.
Anyways I get it about 2 weeks after paying for it on the 12th, it arrives, I open the box and find that the upper pipe has 3 large scratches that really detract from the pipes.. and they are not just little, they are about 2 inches long and pretty wide, careless handling.
Not a big deal as its only spray paint in the first place..
Then theres the issue of the "couplers" which is really just 2.5" radiator hose from NAPA... To top it off I look inside the pipes to see it filled with metal shavings from where the pipe was cut.
Attatching the coupler to the intercooler was also half assed because the intercooler inlet is a 1/4" smaller than the "coupler". So I had to tighten the clamp like a madman to get it tight enough.
I go to install it and after I get it hooked up... I got the greddy BOV attatched to the flange and look from the side and the BOV sticks up about 3/4 to 1 inch too high... so I cant even close the hood!
I figure this is mostly because I have the k&n cone filter kit but even with the filter removed(just to see if it would fit) its still an EXTREMELY tight fit. It WILL close without the cone filter, but I obviously can't drive the car like that..
Overall:
scratched spray painted pipes
shavings in the pipes
radiator hose "couplers" that are "one size fits all"
waste of money
So overall with some real displeasure I'm gonna use the pipes if I can get a filter that isn't as wide as the K&N filter kit filter... Any ideas?
