I know theres a bunch of threads but I cant find a definite answer. Im looking to buy a double din in-dash dvd player, specifically the Pioneer AVH-P4200DVD. Will this fit? Similar units have been in 2g's on here, but do they fit using stock brackets? Or will I need to buy some sort of harness, etc?

I checked crutchfield and it said NONE of the pioneer in dash dvd players would fit...but I've seen them.

Please help out! thanks!

I second that. I have read into it and also seen it for myself. That unit will fit just fine using the stock brackets. I am actually looking into putting the same Pioneer unit or similar in my 99.

We need to have a sticky on here for reals. This question comes up often.

Our 2gs (im sure even 1gs dont know much about them) Have a DOUBLE DIN opening.

DIN and DOUBLE DIN are "INDUSTRY STANDARDS"

so if the size of the deck is "DIN" or "DOUBLE DIN" then it will fit. It is more rare, now that I'm mentioning it I don't even think there is one, for a deck NOT to be the standard DIN or DOUBLE DIN size.

What you HAVE to watch out for is the FACE. Some are OVERSIZED face, and that is where you may have a problem. If the face of the deck is larger than the DIN/DOUBLE DIN, you may have to trim around the bezel.

Also the STOCK BRACKETS are the BEST BRACKETS. The aftermarket crap is PLASTIC and the deck just slips in there, it is less secure, and I am just speaking in terms of the single din aftermarket decks.

They do NOT sell a DOUBLE DIN DASH INSTALL KIT, because well, duh, our stock deck is double din and you reuse the stock brackets, AGAIN the more SUPERIOR INSTALL KIT THERE IS.

So you are asking, if I installl a single din aftermarket deck, how about the GAPING HOLE DIN?

They sell din pockets, but you have to make sure it is the ones with the holes to bolt to the bracket.

Or you can ask a lowly NT owner to sell you theirs as it is the direct oem one
