i cut the bolt on either side of the shock, then pounded out the remaining pieces. then replaced the bolt on the new shock.

Yea, I've done that to my brothers Integra and I wasnt gonna do it to mine because i didnt want to replace the bolt, but I just might have to. It's HARDER than MOTHER!

I'm guessing you're talking about the bottom of the shock. If it's stuck there, and you have a dremel, you can grind a slot along the bottom. Then take something like a big flat head screw driver, put it into the slot and twist it. That should give it enough room to slide off.

Yea i did get it off. I dremeled a section of it off and it wasnt easy sliding the shock off. Had to use a special tool to press it out. Then i just kicked the rest off like a cow on mad disease. Bolt is too rusty to be reused.

I had the same problem when I upgraded my suspension. What I did was spray with some liquid wrench, let it soaked then use a rubber hammer and hit the lower shock body. Also use a flat head screw driver or pry bar to pry it out. Hope this helps.

Mine also did that, so I heated it with a torch and used a BIGASS pry bar to 'persuade' it off  .
