I am replacing my OEM shocks with KYB's and when removing the lower part I have problems .

The KYB's have a ring (spacer within the bushing but does the OEM one do? I think so but not sure at this time as I have gotten one shock off and it seems as thering(spacer) is siezed on the part where the bolt screws into. Am I correct with this and whats needed to get it off so I can put on my KYB rear shocks? Please help me out guys I am clueless.

So what you are saying is that when you pulled the rear stock shock off the metal inside the rubber bushing came out of the shock and remained frozen on the lower shock mount?

You could try beating the "spacer" with a hammer and chisel towards the differential, or cut a relief along the length of the metal piece being careful not to cut the mount itself. You will probably end up doing both.

When you install the new shock coat the lower mount in neversieze to prevent this from happening again.

Yes thats what I am saying sorry so confussing been a long day for me.

I will try the cut a relief in it and go from there. Thanks and I will let you know the outcome.

well all went well....got the dremel out made a qiuck relief cut and than got the chisle and the sledge, took a few whacks at it and presto...come off the OEM shocks and on with the KYB's

Thanks
