I cant seem to find any place that sells just the rear bushings for shocks. So im wondering if you can take them out of one shock and put into another shock? Reason im asking is because my coilovers dont have rear bushings anymore due to being froze to trailing arms and im looking for a solution. Thanks guys

You talking about the metal sleeves that slide over the lower shock mounts on the rear of a 1g AWD?

I typed a reply and never hit post apparently..

I had the same situation happen with my rear KYB AGX shocks. They froze to the rear mounts and I ended up ripping the rubber / metal sleeve out of the shock. I searched for a solution. The only thing I could come up with is either find a machinist to make a custom bushing from aluminum / steel, or (the route I'm going), simply by new shocks. I know this doesn't help much, but it's what I found...

Im still wondering if bushings could be pressed out of other shocks and pressed into the coilovers. Ive also found universal bushings so im going to take some measurements and see if i can find any that will work. I just need to know the size of the stud the bushing gets slide onto so I know what size i.d i need for a bushing. Hope that makes sense

The collars on my AGX's (the metal tube that slides onto the rear control arm shock mount), is 19mm inside diameter, 40mm wide. In other words if you are looking to order (or have a machine shop make you something), You need a bushing that is 40mm wide, 19mm inside diameter, and the outside diameter would be whatever the hole in your coilover body is. 18 - 19mm would be my guess on the actual mounting "pin" diameter, Pin being the mounting point on the lower control arm. I don't have the arm in front of me. They are at the powder coater. Just going off measurements from the KYB AGX AWD rear shocks I do have. 40mm wide would refer to the width (thickness) of the bushing. Hope that helps...

No the rears on an AWD car. I have a 92 Laser RS AWD.

Ok so I need to know what size the pin is on a trailing arm where the bushing goes on. Also does the bushing have to have a metal insert or could it just be a polyurethane bushing that you press into shock then slide on trailing arm pin then just put bolt with washer on to hold on shock?

For reference and to support what 90laserRSfwd mentioned earlier, I took the bushings out of my old FWD AGXs and directly pressed them into the AWD KYBs without any other modification to make them work on a FWD. The bushing out of the FWD has an OD of 20mm. Remember, also, that you can always enlarge the ID of a smaller bushing if necessary.

If I recall correctly, the AWD unit didn't have a bushing at all. That's why the FWD bushing pressed right in.

I had an awd and I just removed the megan racing coilovers to sell but the rears no longer have any bushings. They were froze to the pins on the trailing arms. Im trying to find bushings to fit to make selling them easier. I also thought if someone buys them they should be able to use bushings out of the shocks they are taking off to put coilovers one

Terminology. Sorry for the confusion. I took the metal sleeve from the FWD unit and put it in the rubber bushing of the AWD. The AWD unit did not have a metal sleeve.

Just as 90laserRSfwd mentioned, probably 40mm wide, ID of 19-20mm, and I'd say a main body OD of 40-42mm.

I found these two. Which would be the closes? By the way the OD is closer to 38 if i go by the megan racing shock

I'd get one with the 3/4" ID. And then, going by what I would presume to be an easier piece to install, the hour glass. Of course, one could always cut the Straight / Hat type in half and it'd be really easy to install.

Ultimately up to you.
