I would try reading up on venting and you will get more answers than you even wanted. I am not even going to post links becasue this question is asked once a week and the answer has always been the same. I hate to be rude, but a search would yield everything you want.

Is it really true our cars run like crap with the RFL or other non circulating BOV's. In that case im just going to go with the greddy type S. Thanks guys

To answer your question specifically the car will run like crap if you vent. This is with any bov and not just the rfl. You can get it to idle/run fine if you get a gm maft. But in your case just go with the type s, it recirculates, sounds good, and holds more boost than your capiable of making.

Why even buy a Type S? Why not keep the 1G its good for up to 30psi (more than enough for a lot of the cars in here). If your worried about the Boost Creep there are free mods, well price of a few parts, that you can do to it or crush it. If you just have to be one of those guys for the sound factor then yeah go with the S. For me I like it "Sleeper Style"! :shhh:

I guess my car runs like crap then. I run 20psi on pump gas and put down [email protected] in the 1/4 mile and 8.0@91mph in the 1/8th. Also before I put the sheet metal intake on I was putting down 335hp to the wheels on the stock short block and head. All this was done vented. So if that's crap then I'll keep running my crappy car :D

It is really a matter of trial and error. Some folks have trouble some don't. The key is go buy a BOV that has the option to recirculate. That way if your car runs like crap then you can recirculate.

trueeee dat. The 1G bov works great , i been running that on my 2G for a while not without problems. Boost creep from just a BOV ? maybe i misunderstood something there but anyway you'll be fine with the 1G uncrushed unless really bumping up the boost. Also as a side note i know when you first get the car you love the pssssh sound of the turbo , if this is why you are asking the best way to sound "cooler" is to get the 1G BOV and a air intake, thats all you need man. You dont have a spend 200+ for a S-type. Check dejon for the intercooler pipes, www.dejontool.com :thumb:

9 out of 10 cars with vented bov's dont run correctly. You can get them to run perfect like your car but it takes tuning and playing around with your set up. Congrats on your time, but do you think it would be quicker if you didnt vent?

Where are you getting this data? Did you do a survey of 100 or even 1000 DSMs to get to you findings? I have never had to tune or "play around" with my car to get it to run right when running vented. Maybe it has to do with the type of BOV I use but that I don't know. I use the HKS SSQV which is a pull type insted of a push type BOV. I don't see how my car would run faster by recirculating. I've been to the dyno and there is no irregularities in my A/F or timing. Do you care to explain why recirculating would make me run faster?
