I just bought a SMC 60 from slowboy,getting ready to install it.

But I wanna know,why the hell is there paint on one fin of the blades?

It bothers me when i dont know something......

Mine had it too when I got my pte turbo. Paint = new turbo imo.

It must have something to do with assembly/balancing, most new turbo's I've seen have this.

Might also be a markings so they know it has been checked or whatever. Like the paint pen marks all over bolts on brand new cars or bikes and whatever.

God, I'd only hope not. Paint will last for less time on a turbine wheel than it will on a tire tread.
My bet is on it being from the balancing machine marking the heavy spot on the turbine.

Its actually used to balance the blades.
