Hey guys, iiiiii'mmm back! Took a hiatus and went through a turbo supra, but now i'm back into the dsm world, and hopefully glad that i am.

1992 Laser Turbo AWD, the key doesnt want to turn in the ignition when you put it in, it's not wheel lock because you can turn the wheel each way and it still wont turn. Any ideas as to why it's doing that, do i need a new ignition column?

The car pulls really hard and seems ok drivetrain wise, but the car doesnt want to go and stay into 5th. I can push the shifter there really hard, even with the car off, it will just come back to neutral. Thats a concern for me as its kinda hard to find reverse, it take about 3-4 tries to find it, it goes into 4th when you think its reverse. Any help, thank you guys.

Sounds like your cables on your shifter are loose try to get someone to shift it for you while you watch the cables under the hood and see if there is any free play or something that doesnt move/look right.
Could possibly be a bent key do you have another key to try? If not I would suggest an ignition column.

My gear selection was the same way. there is a bracket right by the actual levers on the transmission. there are two bolts that hold it in place. Make sure they are there.

Also your whole column isn't what you need you can actually pull just the tumbler out with like a pin hole on the bottom you just press it in with a small pick kinda of thing and it would just pop right out. I actually have mine from my 90 laying around somwere. Im not sure were but somewere. So the good news is that you wont have take the whole steering column out!

Pimking wish I woulda known about you about 3 months ago woulda saved me a lot of time pulling the tumblars out :)

yeah you live and learn:thumb: I took the steering column out of the 90 and put it into my 91 because some idiot thought it would be a good idea to break the nut that holds the steering wheel on. I was about ready to pull the tublers when I saw that and out she went. made changing keys a easy job.
