Yeah my tranny took a dump on me so I have a few questions. My buddy has an extra tranny from a laser rs-t (fwd), I dont know what year it was but I know it was a 6bolt. I just want to know if it will fit my 95' gst? He is selling it for $250 and he said it was just rebuilt, do you guys think it's reliable? Also, I have the tranny out of my car and my mechanic and I tried opening it up because I think it might be a shifting fork, and it seems to be stuck on something. Do I have to remove those gears on the opposite side of the bellhousing? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I dont think that would be possible, as 3 of the 4 motor mounts in a 2g are on the transmission and the 1g has the majority of the mounts on the engine so there would be no holes for you to bolt the mounts to.

thats what i thought but i guess he said i can take the bracket off my tranny and put it on this new one. he used to be into dsm's and also worked as a mechanic for 3 years. so i dunno, i figured i would ask you guys first instead of buying it, putting it in, and having it not work.

No the trans. will not fit. It sounds like you or your mechanic is not familiar with a dsm transmission, I would leave trying to fix it or rebuild it to someone that knows what they are doing.

It WILL fit...but it's not a project for noobs ;)
Get a 2g fwd tranny or rebuild yours.

well what has to be done? I havent seen his tranny yet and I'd be able to do it. Im still a noob because i dont post that much. Ive done clutches on two dsm's, been through 7 turbo swaps on multiple cars, and did everything in my vehicle profile. Trust me I'm very mechanically inclined. I figured at least someone has encountered this and wanted to ask before i waste my time and/or money.
