Im getting some sort of break up at high boost. I think it is a fuel shortage like my 255 not keeping up. But it also sounds like ignition break up. I get a large amount of knock too 30+ counts when it starts acting stupid. This all starts at around 20psi and only gets worse upwards to 40psi.

20 pounds of boost could be ignition break up, 40 pounds almost has to be, unless your running an ignition amplifier. What turbo are you running 40 psi on that ANY 255 pump could even dream of keeping up with surely not the s258 WTF ?

Ok i have a few thing that i recently changed. I purchased a Xspower manifold with the 40mm hks gate flange on it. I needed one and it looked good for $100 but after install my boost will not go any lower then 26psi. The wastegate is tapped from the collector and all the welds were ground down smooth? Well as soon as i install a boost controller the boost is at 30psi and climbs to 40psi in the end. I think my car is kinda weak it is a stock orignal bottom end and has no cams. Do you think it is the 2g mass maxing out i thought they were good for 48lb/min? When the car starts knocking the motor sounds just wrong like its out of fuel or the ingnition is way retarded.

There is no way in hell you’re going to run 40lbs of boost on a stock motor and not get any knock, unless you meth inject the hell out of it, and run C-16 or a decent 110. I'm not even sure that'll work for very long. Hell, my buddy holds the current hp record on a stock bottom end, and he didn't even boost more than 30-31, and consistently that'll melt.

The first step would be to re-check your boost controller and make sure it’s not backwards or anything, because it’ll run wide open until the turbo just blows up. Secondly, make sure if you’re going to try and run just Wastegate pressure, you still run a vacuum line to the intake manifold. If you got a 14lb spring, and it’s boosting 26, then you’re messed up somewhere around there. Just because you disconnect the Boost Controller doesn’t mean it’ll just run WG pressure, make sure the line is still there.

I’m not very familiar with the turbocharger you’re running but I assume it can flow 40 psi without blowing up? It’s your stock Rods/Pistons that’ll most likely melt after a short amount of time.

I know if you have a fuel pressure regulator, you can increase the fuel pressure enough to get the most out of your 255lph, at 20-30psi, or 26 you were talking about. But it seriously sounds like you have a tuning issue, mixed with an over boosting issue. If you want to over boost your engine, have fun with it, I’m selling a Shortblock man, let me know when you need it.

You have no idea what your AFR's are like do you? Please get it tuned.

No wideband yet i have been driving around at 31psi for the past 2 weeks no issues. Me and a friend spent 2-3 hours making chip changes to get it to not knock. So im pretty happy my SAFC shows around 2700hz that is going to be my 93octane tune now its time for the 110.

Please get a wideband before things start blowing up. Trust me - it will help you in the long run.

30lbs, no wideband, stock wires, stock motor, stock AFPR... That's 5 reasons for ignition breakup and/or knock...

For the love of GOD, please turn the boost down:pray: THEN get a wideband, in that order.

I have had the break up fixed for weeks. I was running lean up top. I spent some time making global adjustments and max timing. Right now im set for 850cc injectors with max timing being 18 degrees advance. On 93 octane i am able to go to redline but it does not feel real powerful. I am now on E85 with a slightly different map i am going tune it in in the next few days now that i have my Dual image board installed.
