If you have 420a read this. Help needed.

Alright i have been searching and searching. Everyone talks about it but i never get a good answer. I have a 420a fwd talon. If i buy a evo3 16g turbo and take it to a performance shop how much would i be looking to spend on getting it installed(they supply piping and everything needed.), getting fmic installed and everything else i need installed and getting computer tuned. Thanks alot if you can help. I would like to hear about what you did to your 420a.

you are looking at a pretty penny

Most shops charge about 100 an hour for labor. If they are supply all the hardware then its going to be quite a lot.

Figure 4 hours they will charge you for the installation, then parts on top of that. 2g install kits for 16g are about 200-250 depending on vendor. Depends what intercooler you go with, ebays cheap. Tuning is also very exspensive. I would estimate that its going to run you at least 2000 total after tuning and all the expencience of turboing a car, injectores, fuel pressure regulation, intercooler, o2 housing, tuning software/piggypack, piping, oil/coolant feed and return lines, turbo manifold, and gaskets for everything.


Honestly you need to figure out what components you are using to figure out the price.

You are better off asking the shop how much they will charge you for the install than people on dsmtuners.

Just a suggestion, with the time and money your gonna spend turboing your 420a you could pic up a 1g turbo AWD. Just a tought. If you want to turbo your 420a, your gonna spend at least 2grand to do right. More if your having the labor done for you.

best answer would be to call the shop you are thinking of and have a consultation with them, and talk pricing and ideas. I can tell you first hand, labor is what will make you take it in the bum. Also some shops wont install what they haven't bought, others don't care. Best to either learn to do it yourself or start doing some serious research on the shops in your area.
